Honda's airbag troubles get bigger, forcing the company to add another 100,000 vehicles to its already massive recall because of flawed airbags.
Honda’s already massive recall because of potentially deadly airbags is even bigger after the company added more than 100,000 vehicles to the list.
This newest recall covers 104,871 vehicles, according to the alert on the National Transportation Safety Board web site. The vehicles affected are 2008 Pilot SUVs, 2004 Civic sedans and 2001 Accords.
The airbags, made by Takata Corp., can deploy with too much power, potentially shooting shards of metal at passengers. So far, five deaths have been blamed on the defective airbags.
