Subsea LVDT Linear Position Sensor for Offshore Drilling

Oct. 9, 2015

SSI Series of Subsea LVDT Linear Position Sensors have a CiA 443 CANopen communication interface so they fulfill the mandates for use on subsea trees, also known as Christmas trees, in off shore oil drilling applications. They can withstand up to 5000 psi and are corrosion-resistant.

Submersible LVDTs provide feedback on valves in monitoring and controlling their status as part of a subsea control module. Failure to completely close a valve could result in an environmental disaster.

  • withstand deepsea enviroments with pressures up to 5000 psi
  • Includes CiA 443 CANopen communication interface mandated for use on subsea trees in offshore drilling
  • High content of nickel, chromium and molybdenum in the Inconel 625 offers excellent protection against corrosion
