AcceleDev Chemical LLC Opens New Facility in New Jersey
AcceleDev Chemical LLC, a leader in custom synthesis services, has opened its 5,000-square-foot R&D and GMP production facility in Cranbury, New Jersey. This expansion will provide advanced chemistry solutions to support the development of new medicines.
Founded in 2003, AcceleDev Chemical LLC has been delivering innovative solutions to pharmaceutical companies worldwide. With this new facility, AcceleDev is set to enhance its capabilities in the R&D and production of early development active ingredients and intermediates, primarily serving the U.S. pharmaceutical market.
AcceleDev’s decision to move to a larger laboratory space was driven by the need to expand its USA chemistry R&D and GMP small-scale production capabilities. This new space allows AcceleDev to become a higher-level active ingredient small-scale producer, more effectively supporting the introduction of new medicines to the marketplace.
"Our new facility will be equipped with GMP suites and cutting-edge technology, allowing us to perform high-level R&D and small-scale production under stringent quality standards. This move not only enhances our technical capabilities but also ensures that we continue to meet the expectations of our customers in delivering safe and effective pharmaceutical solutions." — Dr. Dave Tschaen, Chief Scientific Officer, AcceleDev.
The new laboratory space features three process development rooms with 8-ft. hoods, an analytical lab, and two isolated GMP suites to conduct high-quality research and production, ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards.
All custom synthesis projects are performed exclusively for customer partners, with rigorous protection of intellectual property and open sharing of new chemistry IP developed during projects. The company offers a broad spectrum of capabilities, including full API process route design, development, and scale-up. With expertise in producing complex pharmaceutical targets, AcceleDev can perform synthetic routes of any length, from 1 to 20 steps or greater, and any scale from mg to MT.
The company’s organization includes 70 chemists, with 12 highly experienced PhDs. Primary Pharma FFS & FTE work is conducted at AcceleDev’s Shanghai and New Jersey R&D sites, while scale-up and commercial projects are executed at its Jiangyin and Dalian production sites in China. The U.S. R&D team is small but rapidly growing, comprising seven chemists, while the Shanghai team includes 40 chemists.
Mollart Machinery Production and Support Moves to USA
As part of two acquisitions just days apart from each other, Bourn & Koch and Mollart Machinery became part of the InCompass portfolio in 2023.
Previously out of Chessington, United Kingdom, Mollart Machinery operations and field service support has transitioned to Bourn & Koch out of Rockford, Illinois, USA.
Mollart has been manufacturing deep-hole drilling machines for over three decades and designing them even longer. The product line includes gundrilling, BTA deep hole drilling machines, micro-drilling, multi-spindle pellet die drilling, and others.
Bourn & Koch is known for manufacturing blanchard grinders, gear hobbers, and fellows gear shapers. With a focus on custom machine tool development and manufacturing, Bourn & Koch is well equipped to take on the manufacturing of Mollart Deep Hole Drilling machines. Along with the manufacturing of Mollart machinery, Bourn & Koch is prepared to service existing machines already in the field.
Bourn & Koch began the process of transitioning production to its Rockford, Illinois plant at the beginning of 2024. With numerous orders already in its backlog for Mollart machine tools, they are quickly getting up to speed on the process of deep hole drilling. The Field Service team at Bourn & Koch has already assisted in numerous installations, both in the United States and in Europe.
With many of Mollart’s customers already located in North America, offering field service and support out of Rockford will cut down on service response time for customers located in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. International service will be provided by Bourn & Koch as well.
Bourn & Koch Field Service Technicians are located throughout the US with many years of experience working on Bourn & Koch OEM machine tools. They have already begun working closely with Mollart’s team to learn about the new product lines to ensure smooth installations and field service.
