A report in The Economic Times of India suggests that Germany's ThyssenKrupp is looking for a buyer or a JV partner for one of its global crankshaft facilities. ThyssenKrupp owns crankshaft forging operations in Europe and ThyssenKrupp Crankshaft Co., LLC, in the United States. The U.S. company includes forging plants in Danville, IL, and Veedersburg, IN, along with machining operations.
ThyssenKrupp recently sold off its precision forging business to Sona Okegawa (an Indian-Japanese joint venture) for an undisclosed amount. That deal included ThyssenKrupp Precision Forge Inc. in Selma, NC.
