How Trump's First 100 Days Could Affect Manufacturing

Nov. 17, 2016
A president's first 100 days in office could set the tone for the next four years, and for America's manufacturers, President Trump needs to come through big league. So what has he promised, and what will happen if he makes good?

On Jan. 20, after the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States, the former real estate mogul will begin building his vision of a great America, one he says will average 3.5% growth and lead to 25 million jobs in the next 10 years. His first big league test will be what he can accomplish in his first 100 days in office, and how many campaign promises he can keep. These range from renegotiating trade deals, lowering corporate taxes, draining the D.C. "swamp" of corruption and cronyism, and repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare). Education, energy, and immigration reform are also on the agenda.

You can read the whole list here.

We're only a modest manufacturing magazine, so we can't say for sure if these policies will make America great again or divide it even more than it is. After this election, we wouldn't be surprised if economic think tanks have no idea how things will turn out.

What we do have is what the Trump team has released, and eight educated guesses on how America's factories and plants, and manufacturing workers will be affected. So start the slideshow to see what we think, and feel free to leave your own predictions in the comment section below.
