CP170 Self-Centering 5-Axis Clamping Vises

Oct. 9, 2024
Fixtureworks' CP170 5-axis clamping vises for workholding create a strong clamping force of up to 4,500 lb. (20 kN) and offer dovetail or serrated jaws.

CP170 5-axis clamping vises for workholding during 5-axis machining, comprise centering clamps, jaws, flex zero bases, and clamping pins.

The self-centering vises, with center-moving jaws for stability, come in lengths of 130 and 170 mm. The rigid design creates a strong clamping force of up to 4,500 lb. (20 kN).  The vise (clamping) body is made from 4140 steel, induction hardened, precision ground, with a black-oxide finish.

Jaws, both dovetail and serrated are available in 79 mm lengths and available in sets for the CP170 self-centering vises to hold the workpiece at two surfaces and provide positive clamping force. Serrated jaws provide a stronger grip and stable workpiece centering.

Flex Zero Bases locate and clamp workpieces, fixture plates, and vises. Bases, available in 240 and 150 mm square configurations with 4-point clamping in a single operation, shorten time during fixture change operations. Locating repeatability is 0.005 mm.

Used with CP170-N vises, four pins are available as a set for mounting. Also available is a protective cover for unused holes in the base's grid.
