Lenox Instrument Company announces the release of its new FireSight® Thermal Imaging Camera System designed specifically to provide clear, real-time monitoring and accurate, non-contact temperature measurement through combustion flames transmitting temperature information from 110,000 individual temperature points via a high speed digital connection.Designed to be installed through a small opening in the combustion chamber wall, the high resolution camera and lens tube employs efficient water-cooling and integrated air-purging to keep the optics clear of debris and enabling operation in high-temperature, furnace environments. The Lenox Infrared Camera operates at a waveband that has been carefully selected to eliminate obscuration and measurement errors caused by absorption/emission bands present in combustion gases found in hydrocarbon fueled furnaces, boilers, and fired heaters. The FireSight® Thermal Imaging Camera System includes image processing software that can control or monitor up to four imaging cameras and allows high resolution images and data to be viewed, manipulated, recorded and archived and to also remotely control the camera(s). Analytical and process control functions include multiple point or user-defined areas of interest temperature - more -measurement, multiple temperature line profiles, isotherms, histograms, trending, emissivity adjustment, delta temperature measurement, background correction and choice of color pallets. The software also features automatic storage of images and video on triggered measurement or high/low alarm conditions with optional analog signals or alarm outputs to a PLC or DCS.Infrared Furnace Camera accessories include an Automatic Retract System that pulls the camera back on loss of water cooling or air, preventing over-temperature damage, a Monitoring Station to provide a local point of connection and status monitoring of coolant flow, purge air pressure, and electrical connections, and a Control Processor that provides connection to a wide range of industrial interfaces (TCP/IP protocol, OPC, analog signals or alarm outputs).FireSight® Thermal Imaging Camera System applications include steel annealing and reheat furnaces, waste to energy grate incineration optimization, and detecting coking, scaling, and slag build-up problems found in petrochemical and utility power plants.
