PACK EXPO 2024: Energy Manager Plug-and-Play System Lets You Keep Track of Energy Consumption and Operating Costs
The Energy Manager solution is a pre-engineered hardware and software solution designed to simplify energy monitoring from quick setup to intuitive operation.
Ready out of the box, the Energy Manager monitors asset energy use in real time, allowing manufacturers to gain deeper insight into energy consumption and operating costs. Through its easy-to-use dashboard, operators can access asset-specific consumption—such as idle consumption and peak loads—, associated costs, and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for up to 10 endpoints (expandable to 50 with a license).
This level of visibility gives organizations greater control to identify idle machines and optimize machine schedules during off-peak hours, reducing electricity use across the plant floor and significantly lowering overall utility costs.
For more extensive monitoring, the Energy Manager can be paired with the Emerson Compressed Air Manager. The combined solution provides a streamlined view of energy costs and compressed air usage across a packaging line, factory, and site.
Highly scalable and easy to integrate with new or existing energy meters, the solution makes it easy to commission and quickly realize a return on investment. The software is available either preinstalled on edge hardware, such as the PACSystems RXi2-BP industrial PC, or as a stand-alone application that can be installed in a virtualized environment.
Features:
- Monitors and visualizes energy usage, costs, and CO2 impact
- Calculate and display energy consumption (kWh), power demand (kW), associated CO2 emissions (kg), and related costs over selected periods
- Pre-installed ready-to-go software and hardware solution
- Gain actionable insights into the energy consumption of various assets, including machines, across various production lines
- Shows periods of idle power, peak demand, low activity periods, and weekend energy usage
- Monitor voltage and frequency fluctuations and identify recurring or isolated power-related anomalies with continuous power demand monitoring
- The Energy Monitor dashboard automatically provides detailed tables with summary values for energy consumption, energy costs, and associated CO2 over various time periods
- Edge hardware provides scalability and easier connectivity to energy meters
