Exlar GTF Hygienic FDA-Approved Electric Actuator

Nov. 5, 2024
Designed with FDA-approved materials to meet EHEDG design standards, Curtiss-Wright's GTF hygienic actuator offers numerous configuration options to achieve hygienic certifications.

Curtiss-Wright’s Actuation Division has expanded its Exlar electric actuator line to include hygienic actuators with FDA-approved materials and finishes.

Designed for automation systems in the food & beverage, packaging, and pharmaceutical industries, the GTF helps customers achieve hygienic certifications such as USDA, 3-A, BISSC, and EHEDG more economically.

The GTF offers numerous configuration options including an IP69K washdown variant, critical for motion applications with potential food contact. As with all Exlar integrated actuators, the high-performance inverted roller screw, servo-driven design, and compact form make it ideal for builders of hygienic machinery to easily incorporate into their designs.

Features:

  • New hygienic seal system reduces moisture ingress and harborage around shaft and mounting surfaces
  • Hygienic design and FDA-approved white epoxy paint reduce cleaning time
  • Stainless-steel main rod provides corrosion resistance nearest to food contact zones
  • Different face mount and clevis mount versions make it easier to meet hygienic design guidelines with different mounting configurations
  • Food-grade grease and seal materials eliminate contamination of food products
  • Designed to meet USDA, 3-A, BISSC, NSF, and EHEDG guidelines
  • Long actuator life due to Exlar inverted roller screw technology
  • Single or two cable connection for motor power and feedback
  • Standard IP67 and optional IP69K environmental ratings
