Tel-Tru Intrinsically Safe RTDs (July 14, 2010) Rochester, NY -- Tel-Tru Manufacturing Company, a premier supplier of temperature and pressure instrumentation, expands its line of RTD probe assemblies and temperature transmitters. Intrinsically safe models, specifically designed to operate safely in hazardous areas, are now available to the sanitary and industrial markets. The new models ISPAA3 and INPAA3 are cCSAus Intrinsically Safe certified to Class I, Div. 1, Groups A, B, C, and D when used with approved zener barrier systems. The assemblies include a proven thin film PT100 platinum RTD sensing element, packaged in an all welded 316L stainless steel probe. Probes are available in .187” and .250” diameters with a choice of lengths ranging up to 12”. Standard probe assemblies include threaded process connections and may be used with a separately purchased thermowell. Sanitary probe configurations are also available featuring Tri-Clover® fittings and surface finishes that comply with 3A Standard 74-03 for food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical processing applications. General purpose connection heads in either die cast aluminum or 316 stainless steel are offered. An FDA approved polypropylene head, for sanitary applications, is available. The intrinsically safe head is supplied with a transmitter with standard 4 to 20 mA outputs, HART®, Profibus, or Foundation Fieldbus protocol capability. Overall range capability is –60 to 500°F, and transmitters can be scaled in the field (programming kit required) or at the factory to most common requirements. Custom ranges can also be accommodated. The probes and assemblies are manufactured in Tel-Tru’s Rochester, NY factory.
