Remote Controlled Powered Trailer

Sept. 4, 2014

DJ Products, Inc. has introduced a remote controlled, self-propelled powered trailer that can easily maneuver machinery and equipment remotely in confined areas, and also be pulled by a tow vehicle at high speeds to transport long distances. The powered trailer was originally designed for the DOD where the operator needed to be at a safe distance while remotely moving explosive material in confined hallways to an outdoor location for fast towing to a destination location.

The trailer has many potential applications in a manufacturing, distribution, in both indoor and outdoor environments where dual movements are needed from one trailer. This powered trailer hauls loads up to 5,000 lbs. In the low speed, intricate moving mode, the unit can travel at speeds of 0 to 2 mph with either manual, wireless, or pendant controlled steering.  It can also travels at speeds of up to 40 mph when being towed by simply lowering the high speed tires and adding a tongue.
