Antaira Granted US Patent for Time-Saving Power Remote Reset Tech
Antaira Technologies, a developer of industrial networking devices, has been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its innovative Power Remote Reset Technology (PRRT) that allows IT staff to remotely reboot and reset a connected powered device through a local Antaira copper-to-fiber media converter.
The time-saving technology, which resides on several Antaira IEEE802.3bt PoE media converters and unmanaged switches, empowers technicians to immediately resolve device function interruptions without traveling to a remote site.
By doing so, PRRT reduces device downtime and increases the reliability of remotely located critical systems and applications, such as security cameras, wireless access points or IP phones. PRRT is especially valuable when an IT team works remotely or supports a large geographical area.
"If a powered device is remote or in a building equipment room, gaining access might pose a challenge and will likely require sending a technician out to the site to perform a power cycle,” said Carl Stelling, Vice President of Antaira Technologies.
“Our patented PRRT technology saves money, time, and the inconvenience of traveling to the remote site to troubleshoot a connected powered device, which may be hours away. It is incredibly gratifying to be awarded a patent that formally recognizes our innovation and leadership."
Antaira PRRT is an important part of the company’s integrated patent portfolio and supports the continued development of its suite of industrial networking solutions.
