Helping Your Manufacturing Team Understand the Process

Feb. 27, 2014
There are some basic steps that a manufacturing can employ to bolster processes within an organization.

Within the manfuacturing plant it’s imperative that a proper process orientation be developed and maintained.  There are three basic ways to help employees develop this mindset.

The first is to understand that all work within a manufacturing firm is composed of a series of tasks that result in an output. Within the firm, every person will play a role in one (or more) tasks that result in an output.

The second is that the entire organization understands the processes that the firm uses to directly produce their product, as well as the support processes necessary to sustain the organization.

Make Process Understanding Robust in the Organization

The third is to use flowcharts of multiple processes. The manufacturing staff should explore them to discuss and discover how variations with input or output affect them personally and how they may affect the final output as a whole.
