Danieli Breda To Supply Steel Forging Equipment to France’s FMDL
Danieli Breda, Buttrio, Italy, has recently acquired an order from FMDL -Forges et Mcanique de la Loire-in France for the turnkey supply of a forging plant for open-die forging and forming of flanges and rings.
The plant is made up of a 35-MN multi-function press and an electrical manipulator on tires with a capacity of 18/36 t.
The pre-stressed Push Down press with a 1000-t piercer has the following features: clear span of 3400 mm; max stroke of 1600 mm; bottom slide with three positions; quick change of hammers and dies with magazine; lateral centering devices for forming sequences; internal 1000-t piercer for blanking of bush bottom; external mandrel support arm to produce flanges and rings.
The manipulator is on tires (electrically fed by cable reel to cover a 30-m radius) and has a capacity of 18 t and a max moment of 36 t/m. The compact unit will be 3450 mm wide by 7000 mm long, with a steering radius of5500 mm. Plant startup is expected by the end of 2005.
