Schuler Inc., the North American business unit of Schuler AG, reports that the takeover of Mueller Weingarten AG by its parent company was completed in September, the respective management teams have met to finalize the organizational changes. Schuler AG now claims to be the world’s largest supplier of metalforming equipment, with a presence in 20 countries and global sales, production, and service programs.
"The acquisition of Mueller Weingarten enhances our brand and strengthens our position in North America and the global market," stated Tim McCaughey, president and CEO of Schuler Inc. "We look forward to further sharing the benefits of this alliance with our customers: the ability to become more productive, flexible and profitable in today's increasingly competitive environment."
According to the statement, Schuler expects the integration process to be in the first quarter of 2008. It added that North American customers will see more competitive and affordable pricing, thanks to “economies of scale”; “new innovations” to improve efficiencies and marketing opportunities; and a more varied global service network.
Schuler Inc., Canton, MI, will be the main point of contact for North American equipment sales and service for Schuler and Mueller Weingarten installations in the U.S. and Canada. Mueller Weingarten S.A. de C.V. will handle aftermarket service in Mexico.
BCN Inc., Hastings, MI, will remain an independent company servicing the Bliss, Clearing, and Niagara brands in North America.
