allPIXA evo 16k Line Scan Camera Takes Multiple Images at Lightning Fast Speeds
Chromasens has expanded its allPIXA line of machine vision cameras with the allPIXA evo 16k line scan camera with a CMOS multiline sensor with 16,384 5 x 5 μm pixels, and capable of scan rates of 200 kHz in monochrome or 73 kHz in color.
For applications needing high-throughput and precise images, such as wafer inspection, PCBs, print materials, food, battery electrode foils, and flat panels, the camera's CoaXPress-12 (CXP-12) four-lane interface achieves lightning-fast data transmission.
Each of the four CXP-12 lanes has a top speed of 12.5 Gb/s (total 50 Gb/s). The camera also supports PoCXP (Power over CoaXPress), supplying the camera with power over the same coaxial cable transmitting data, and eliminating the need for a separate power cable. CXP-12 achieves extremely low latency and jitter for the most stable, reliable performance over extended distances.
It has a multifield feature that allows up to four images to be acquired in a single pass. Multifield works by triggering a maximum of four different flash controller channels synchronized to the camera's line acquisition, allowing image acquisitions with different illumination geometries, such as dark field, bright field, backlight, or co-axial.
Chromasens allPIXA evo 16k cameras provide versatile frame and line trigger options for flexible synchronization, including variable encoder input. Image processing capabilities are enhanced by pixel sensitivity correction (PRNU/DSNU), continuous and automatic white balancing, and a color correction matrix to optimize color image representation. Filters in the near-infrared range enable the detection of object features in the visible and NIR spectrum with one camera, for instance, in sorting or object or defect detection.
The GenICam Control Tool software and Chromasens SDK helps in quick integration into any industrial environment, whereas the camera itself can be used with any GenICam-compliant development kit. This enables rapid implementation of camera control and high-speed image acquisition under Windows or Linux. Also, the camera's compact footprint (102 x 113 x 100 mm [4 x4 x 4 in]) allows integrators to create more streamlined and less intrusive systems, making it ideal for space-constrained environments.
