QCPC Series Clamping Pins for Quick Change Applications

Jan. 8, 2025
Fixtureworks' quarter-turn pin holding clamp series, including QCPC, QCPCS, QCPC-M, and QCPCS-M offer positive locking for easy insertion and removal with a consistent fastening force to prevent under or over-tightening.

Fixtureworks now offers two varieties of quarter-turn pin-holding clamp fasteners: The QCPC and heavy-duty QCPCS, as well as corresponding clamping pins, the QCPC-M and QCPCS-M. These quarter-turn clamps come with either a plastic or stainless-steel knob.

The QCPC clamps provide positive locking in quick change applications for frequent insertion and removal of a fixture or top plate. They allow for consistent fastening force eliminating the chance for under or over-tightening. The clamp is mounted to the fixture and the pin is mounted to the base. After placing the fastener on the pin, turning the knob one-quarter turn locks the fastener into place. The fasteners are marked with "ON" and "OFF" indicators to show the position of the fastening pins.

They're available in diameters of 25 and 34 mm (0.9 and 1.3 in), are used on plates of 6 and 14 mm (0.2 and 0.5 in) thickness, and provide a clamping force of 1.5 and 2 lb (0.5 and 1 kg)

The QCPCS heavy-duty fasteners available with plastic and stainless-steel knobs also provide positive locking in quick-change applications. Acting similarly to the QCPC pins, they're designed to be used with QCPCS-M series clamping pins. The QCPCS pin-holding clamps are used on plates from 3 to 20 mm (0.1 to 0.7 in) and come in diameters from 30 to 40 mm (1 to 1.5 in). They provide a holding force from 101 to 169 lb (45 to 76 kg), and a clamping force from 33 to 56 lb (15 to 25 kg). After placing the fastener on the pin, turning the knob one-quarter turn locks the fastener into place with four balls. Turning the knob to the “OFF” position releases the balls and allows the fastener to be removed.

The QCPC-M clamping pins are used with the QCPC. They quickly mount in a single tapped hole. They are available in 6 and 8-mm (0.2 and 0.3 in) diameters with M4 x0.70 and M5 x 0.80 mm mounting thread size respectively.

The QCPCS-M clamping pins are used with the heavy-duty QCPCS pin-holding fasteners. Mounting thread size ranges from M4 to M6. Two pin types are available depending on the allowable load needed. They are available in 6 and 8-mm (0.2 and 0.3 in) diameters.
