PACK EXPO 2024: VPS Valve Applicator Machine Offer Efficient Liquid Packaging Solution

Nov. 7, 2024
AZCO's latest valve applicator machine, the VPS, is a modular machine that eliminates straws and fitments on liquid pouches for packaging.

Debuted at PACK EXPO 2024, AZCO Corp's latest valve applicator machine applies ValvPak valve technology to pouches, offering a sustainable and efficient liquid packaging solution. Requiring only air and power to operate, the VPS Automated Valve Placing Process is a plug-and-play machine that can be integrated into existing lines and keeps up with typical pouch machine speeds of over 80 units/min.

ValvPak is a patented, self-contained, and flexible valve system that seals into the top of pouches and controls the liquid dispensing for a wide range of viscosities—from water to toothpaste. It reduces materials and costs compared to traditional liquid packaging solutions that rely on fitments or straws.

The modular, free-standing machine applies ValvPak to pouches, enabling more manufacturers to take advantage of this sustainable system. The machine includes unwind, feeder, indexing, and heat seal stations, all of which are mounted on an easy-to-install equipment frame. Using an optical sensor, the machine picks up the mark on the film, then registers, indexes, and heat seals the valve to the film. Pouches come off the machine ready to be filled.

Features:

  • Automatic material feed & precise valve placement
  • Advanced registration system ensures accurate positioning before cutting
  • Heat-sealing capability
  • Self-contained system requires only a 220V power connection and pressurized air for operation
  • Operates as a "slave" to existing process, synchronizing positioning based on your printed web
  • For non-registered materials, the system requires a one-shot signal for positioning
