Flex Feeding and Assembly Robot

June 11, 2020
Engineered Vision's turnkey assembly robot is a high-performance parts feeding solution that can be used as a standalone or integrated with existing equipment.

The Flex-Bot provides a solution to a previously unsolved manufacturing dilemma of high mix part feeding. This limitation has stifled manufacturers' ability to automate leaving manual labor in charge of dull and monotonous part feeding for anything less than ultra-high volume. The Flex-Bot offers an alternative to ultra-high volume single part bowl feeders with multiple part flexibility and additional orientation capability through robotic placement. With a standard hardware and software platform, there has been a greater than 40% reduction in engineering hours required to develop a custom application and those savings are being passed on to the customer. It offers the ability to quickly adapt to an immense range of parts through Vibratory and Smart Auto-Tuning Technology, as well as a point-and-click user interface.

Using the power of Epson and the innovation of Engineered Vision, the Flex-Bot is a cross-industry solution for manufacturers of all sizes. Handling simple to complex parts sized 5 to 40 mm, the Flex-Bot can support a wide variety of materials across the plastic, rubber, and metal industries.

Quick Parts Changeover allows for the Flex-Bot to easily integrate into manufacturing lines that produce multiple products of different shapes and sizes. The Flex-Bot uses unique directional vibration through multi-axis vibration technology for optimization in part control and singulation including part flipping.

The Flex-Bot comes with an Equipment Base, SCARA Robot, Machine Vision System, Flex Feeder, Hopper, Robot EOAT, Safety System, HMI, Programming, and Installation. Additionally, Engineered Vision provides upgrade options to integrate an Indexing Table or Conveyor for part placement and/or assembly. The purchase of a Flex-Bot includes customized vision and robot programming to meet your unique application with a 1-year manufacturer warranty through Engineered Vision. The Flex-Bot comes in at an introductory price of $75,000.00.

As an Epson AutomateElite Gold Partner, Engineered Vision was able to create the Flex-Bot and begin educating businesses that could not automate before due to their product mix, in-house automation experience, and ROI.
