Lenses Provide Laser Damage Threshold

Jan. 3, 2019
Edmund's laser grade lenses include 20 different models, all offering high surface quality and accuracy.

TECHSPEC Laser Grade PCX Lenses includes twenty models of precision lenses, with high surface quality and surface accuracy for a wide variety of high energy Nd:YAG laser applications including laser cutting, machining, and welding.

The lenses have a precision UV fused silica substrate and they feature ?/10 surface accuracy and 10-5 surface quality, which ensures low scatter and maximum transmitted wavefront performance. The lenses provide an absolute reflectance of less than 0.25% at the coating design wavelength. TECHSPEC Laser Grade PCX Lenses offer a guaranteed laser damage threshold, designed and rigorously tested to withstand a given level of laser fluence and will not be damaged by the specified laser parameters. Damage thresholds for these lenses range from 3 J/cm2 at 266nm to 15 J/cm2 at 1064nm at 20ns, 20Hz.

TECHSPEC Laser Grade PCX Lenses are available with a 25.4 mm diameter, either uncoated or with a choice of high laser damage threshold anti-reflective (AR) coatings, including most common Nd:YAG laser wavelengths, ensuring maximum laser throughput. The PCX lenses are offered with effective focal lengths ranging from 35 to 1,000 mm, and a clear aperture of 21.5 mm. TECHSPEC Laser Grade PCX Lenses are in-stock and available for immediate delivery.
