MDL55MW Vacuum Cleaner Separates Chips from Coolant

June 20, 2018
VAC-U-MAX's industrial vacuum separates at 1 to 2 gallons per second.

The 55MW Air-Operated Industrial Vacuum Cleaner separates coolant from metal chips and debris at rates of 1 to 2 gallons per second (60 to 120 GPM) allowing operators to quickly empty machine tool sumps, machining beds, oil/water separators, parts washers, and rinse tanks by vacuuming both coolant and chips directly into the collection container.

Solid particles are separated from collected liquid with a VAC-U-MAX Chip Basket and Liner, with coolant flowing through the basket directly into the collection container. The separation of coolant and chips is done in one step, with less downtime and improved scrap handling while maximizing cost savings by recycling coolant and maximizing productivity by extending machine tool life. Once cleaning and vacuuming are completed the unit can be switched from vacuuming to pumping out at 14 gallons per minute. Coolant and other liquids are pumped directly back into the machine tool or directly into a drum for disposal.

The 55MW features heavy-duty construction with full mobility via a fully welded dolly with dual swivel casters. The unit’s compact size allows the system to get close to machine tools and sumps and keep vacuum hoses as short as possible.

The system features a powder coat finish with excellent chemical resistance for high volume recovery of 100% solids or 100% liquids or any combination. Slotted holes in the cart base prevent pooling of fluids with a dispensing nozzle on the pump-out hose allowing control of where and when the fluid comes out. Smoothbore hoses prevent the accumulation of liquids and chips. The system runs by cool-running convenient compressed air—no motors to burn out.
