Arc Flash Protection Faceshields Get Improved

July 20, 2017
National Safety Apparel has improved its faceshield for better protection against arc flash.

PureView faceshields are the next generation of arc flash head protection. These highly translucent faceshields deliver a combination of protection, visibility, comfort, and durability. PureView faceshields enable construction, utilities, and power generation workers, as well as electrical contractors, to see through their faceshields with improved color recognition and better visibility in low light situations.

PureView’s technology was developed to absorb the infrared light from an arc flash without the use of green dyes. This technology provides the necessary arc flash head protection in a highly translucent arc flash faceshield, allowing enhanced color visibility and a clearer view.

PureView also provides maximum durability with anti-abrasion and anti-fog properties on both sides of the shield. These features are estimated to extend the life of PureView arc flash faceshields by four times vs. uncoated products that have a potential of a  five-year exterior life span.

Adjustable bracket settings allow the PureView faceshield to be secured in various positions, including above the hard hat. The low profile clear chin cup enables better peripheral vision, and PureView’s lightweight design offers added comfort. PureView arc flash faceshields are available in 12 cal, 20 cal and 55 cal.
