Marsh Single-Mag Flow Meter Maximizes Accuracy, Ease-Of-Use & Reduces Costs

June 30, 2006

Hemet, CA—June 12, 2006—McCrometer is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the Marsh Single-Mag™ Flow Meter, which is a superior cost-effective solution for accurately measuring liquid flows in closed conduits. The Marsh Single-Mag (formerly, the Flo-System) Flow Meter offers process and plant engineers a proven solution for many of their most demanding water flow measurement needs, with the added benefits of low maintenance, ease-of-installation and ease-of-use.

The Marsh Single-Mag Flow Meter, with its unique electromagnetic technology, serves in pressurized line applications from 2 to 96 inches. The Single-Mag provides a highly cost-effective measurement solution with a flow accuracy of ±2% of reading, ± zero stability at -3 to +10 feet per second (-0.9 to +3 meters per second). It operates over a wide flow range of -5 to +20 feet per second (-1.5 to +6.1 meters per second).

The Single-Mag provides a reliable 4-20 mA analog output signal for monitoring and alarming. Dual alarms with two separate outputs are standard. In addition to monitoring flow, the Marsh Single-Mag measures pressure and temperature. The Single-Mag measures pressures up to 250 psi and temperatures up to 160ºF (71ºC) in stainless steel pipes.

The Marsh Single-Mag Flow Meter can be specified by engineers with confidence for a wide range of applications in conductive and harsh fluids, including chemical laden flows, slurries, sludge and more. Engineers depend on the Single-Mag to maximize data results when measuring water, wastewater, potable water or industrial cooling water, and pulp stock. It also performs superbly in many irrigation distribution

systems.

The Marsh Single-Mag’s sensors are designed with advanced Polyurethane insertion tubes, and it offers special rugged duty Stainless Steel tubes for harsh environments. The electronics are enclosed in a NEMA 4X/IP65 compliant enclosure with separate termination and electronics compartments. The Marsh Single-Mag Flow Meter is a snap to install, causing no interruption of the flow process or need to shut down the system.

Configuration and set-up of the Marsh Single-Mag Flow Meter is simple. Programming can be quickly accomplished on site using a keypad and the security of two levels of user-defined password protection. Maintenance is easy too and economical thanks to the unit’s debris shedding, self-cleaning sensor that keeps operating costs down.

McCrometer recently acquired Marsh-McBirney’s popular full pipe Multi-Mag and Flo-System (renamed Marsh Single-Mag) flow meter product lines, bringing together two of the water industry’s leading suppliers of electromagnetic flow measurement technology. For over 34 years, Marsh-McBirney has been highly regarded for its innovative, reliable and accurate flow measuring technologies.

Marsh Single-Mags are frequently selected for municipal and industrial water and wastewater applications based on their performance, ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness. Combining the strength of Marsh-McBirney’s Multi-Mag and Single-Mag products with McCrometer’s Ultra Mag® Flow Meters offers customers an unbeatable combination when it comes to performance, reliability, quality and value.
