Wieland Electric, Inc. is pleased to announce the recent Underwriters Laboratories (U.L.) and Canadian Standards Association (C.S.A.) listing of their NGG series line of industrial timers. The listings correspond to UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No.14-M05 for industrial control equipment, certificate number: 310506-E179304.This line of industrial timers and relays comprise a long list of multi-function timers, interval ON, interval ON/OFF, ON-delay, OFF-delay with auxiliary voltage, ON-delay and OFF-delay, star-delta relays, signal watchdog and flasher relays. All are DIN rail mountable in a 22.5 mm package and can handle both AC and DC voltages from 24 to 240 volts. Some models feature remote potentiometer connections for time adjustments. All units feature LED’s for display of functions. Time ranges are from fractions of a second to hundreds of hours. For example, the NGM 1600 has a timing range from .1 second to 300 hours with instantaneous and time delayed contacts and 16 functions all in the same unit. The NGD 31 is used for switching motors from star startup mode to delta mode with adjustable time delay. The NGW 11 is a watchdog timer that can switch between 2 source voltages should one voltage be lost for more than the adjustable time delay. All units have highly visible dials for time base and time periods that can be read from the front and side. “With so many applications requiring compliance with the new UL 508 and CSA C22.2 standards, many stand-alone timers and relays do not conform to these standards. Wieland’s broad line of versatile units fills these requirements in a cost effective and simple to implement manner” said Wieland Applications Engineer, Ed Nachel. “Even with the wide usage of PLC’s, many machines require stand-alone, specialized, small footprint timers and relays that offer functionality and conform to standards that some PLC’s do not”. Wieland offers 31 models of specialized timers and relays starting in price at $60.35 and can be found on pages 688 through 787 in the new 2006 AT products catalog.
