Rugged Aerospace HDMI Cables

Dec. 13, 2017
W. L. Gore & Associates introduces a 2.0 version of their rugged HDMI cables, with a smaller profile that is lighter weight.

A ruggedized 2.0 version of GORE Aerospace HDMI Cables is engineered with a fluoropolymer fiber material that is abrasion-resistant without sacrificing size, weight or durability. This version can eliminate the need for additional protective sleeving for cables installed in cabin seats, which means faster installation. At the same time, these smaller, lighter-weight cables increase flexibility with a tighter bend radius making them easier to route in narrow seat configurations.

In addition, Gore’s HDMI 2.0 cables deliver outstanding signal integrity for high-speed data transmission up to 18 gigabits. They carry video data at faster speeds over longer distances to meet new, more complex video protocols required to keep up with passenger demand for a better in-flight entertainment (IFE) experience. These cables also meet the most stringent industry requirements and qualifications for life-long performance.

The ruggedized 2.0 version of GORE Aerospace HDMI Cables complements Gore’s wide variety of high data rate solutions, including Ethernet Cat5e and Cat6a cables, USB 3.1 cables, high-frequency microwave/RF cable assemblies, and more.

  • Excellent signal integrity for faster video transfer up to 18 gigabits over longer distances
  • Higher video resolution up to 4K at 50/60 (2160p) for increased clarity
  • Less need for additional signal amplification in any system architecture
  • Life-of-aircraft performance in demanding surroundings due to the unique construction
  • Smaller profile that is lighter weight and highly flexible with a tighter bend radius for simplified routing
