Low Voltage 2X Power Digital AC Servo Drive

Nov. 14, 2006
Automotion, Inc. is pleased to announce the availability of our new ACS300 series low voltage, all digital, brushless AC servo amplifiers. Utilizing a DSP based architecture this new product provides software selectable Torque, Velocity, or Position Mode operation. Sine wave commutation provides smooth torque at low speeds for demanding motion control requirements found in robotic, direct drive, and linear motor applications. The ACS300 utilizes an AC servo (flux vector) control algorithm that provides higher dynamic response and better noise immunity when compared to older style servo amplifiers that use dual analog inputs, sine wave feedback, and analog multiplication techniques. The ACS300 provides motor commutation using quadrature encoder feedback and requires only one analog input signal for precise AC sine wave operation. Driven by design to be one of the most space-efficient, low voltage digital brushless servo-amplifiers available, the ACS300 measures just 5.25" (133mm) by 3.4" (86mm) by 1.0" (25mm) overall, and weighing in at less than 8 oz. (222g) without a heatsink. This compact amplifier can output up to 1.8 kilowatts of peak power, over twice the power of our previous LV servo drive models. The ASC300 operates using a single supply input of +12 to +48 VDC for motor power. The ACS300 is rated at 15 Amps continuous output current and 30 Amps peak. Designed for use with low voltage DC, Brushless DC, or Brushless AC permanent magnet motors, the ACS300 offers a standard RS232 serial communication interface and an optional CAN hardware interface. The ACS300 is part of Automotion’s new generation of intelligent servo-amplifiers based upon advanced DSP technology and is supported with our easy to use AutoMotion™ Window's based setup and tuning utility. With its built-in graphical tuning and diagnostic capabilities, the ACS300 brings a new level of motion control application flexibility and efficiency to Automotion's OEM customers. Availability is typically Stock to 4 weeks.
