ERDP Remote Drive Electrifies Pneumatic Actuators

Oct. 9, 2024
PHD, Inc.'s ERDP Remote Drive electrically powers pneumatic grippers, clamps, and short-travel linear actuators independent of factory air systems.

Simplifying the electrification of pneumatic actuators in a closed-loop system, the ERDP Remote Drive uses air lines to connect to one or more pneumatic actuators to enable the power system to be located near the point of use, offering easy setup and a user-friendly solution.

The drive is designed to save energy compared to traditional compressed air systems. It can be used for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to:

  • Automated guided vehicles (AGV)
  • Welding cells
  • Crossbar robotic feeding
  • Medical and hospital equipment
  • Packaging
  • Robotic End of Arm Tooling (EOAT)
  • Assembly cells
  • Food processing
  • And many others

Features:

  • Energy saving
  • Ensures consistent force to the pneumatic actuator
  • Removes the motor's weight from the actuator
  • Powers multiple pneumatic actuators simultaneously
  • No FRL or valves required
  • Reduces noise for a quieter environment
