HIGH VOLTAGE CHIP RESISTORS HANDLE UP TO 1,500 WVDC

Jan. 20, 2007
HDK-America has announced a series of low-profile, half-watt surface mount chip resistors capable of handling up to 1,500 volts. Designated the HCR50, it is based on a ceramic substrate, and is available in resistance values ranging from 3M O to 16 M O The HCR50 matches up to a 2010 case code, with a footprint of just 5.0x2.5mm and a height of 0.5mm. It is available in standard tolerances of 5(J), 10(K) or 20%(M) and offers an isolation resistance of 500 volts. Temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is excellent, offering +200 ppm/°C over a -55 °C to +125 °C operating temperature range. These resistors are recommended for use in high-voltage power supplies, voltage dividers, power control circuits and other applications where space is at a premium. Such circuits may be found in communications equipment, personal computers, automotive electronics and many technology-based business products.
