Molykote(r) D-96 Anti-Friction Coating from Dow Corning reduces or eliminates noise in automotive interior components, including door panels, arm rests, instrument panels, glove boxes and clips. "Intermittent motions between interior parts are the main source of automotive interior noise, and may be caused by vibrations from irregularities in the road surface, engine idling or acceleration forces," said Tom Springstead, Dow Corning Global Program Manager for Powertrain Sealing and Lubrication. "Molykote D-96 Anti-Friction Coating minimizes automotive interior noise by providing a smooth surface between mating parts." D-96 Anti-Friction Coating has a near-transparent appearance that blends with a wide range of interior part colors, and can be used in place of expensive alternatives such as non-woven tapes. The air-curing, dry coating is suitable for plastic-on-plastic, plastic-on-metal, plastic-on-leather, and leather-on-leather interior parts that experience vibrations during regular driving conditions.
