GC1130 Insert Grade Finds Use With Groove Milling Tools

Dec. 16, 2016
GC1130 insert grade delivers high metal removal rates and secure performance levels in both wet and dry machining operations.

GC1130 insert grade delivers high metal removal rates and secure performance levels in both wet and dry machining operations.

Machine shops can now use grade GC1130 inserts with CoroMill QD for deep and narrow grooving in both external and internal roughing and finishing operations. For additional groove milling requirements, GC1130 inserts can also be applied to CoroMill 331, a multi-purpose side and face milling cutter.

GC1130 overcomes such issues as flaking, abrupt chipping, and thermal cracks that are commonly encountered when milling materials in the ISO P application area,

  • Ensures secure machining with long and predictable insert tool life
  • High metal removal rates and reliability, even in challenging conditions such as complex tool paths or deep cavities
  • Great performance in both dry and wet machining
  • Next-generation PVD coating is optimized for steel milling, which offers customers the perfect balance between abrupt chipping and continuous wear resistance
  • High-Cr content fine-grain substrate is optimized to withstand edge-line chipping and cracks arising from difficult and demanding machining conditions, such as temperature variations
  • Challenging machining e.g.unfavourable tool paths, deep cavities, and long overhangs
  • Roughing to finishing
  • Wet and dry machining (dry machining is recommended)
  • Good choice for mixed material production
