March 18, 2009
Silicone foam tape from Pres-On combines the lightness of foam with the heavy-duty sealing of sponge rubber. Used in virtually every industry, including HVAC, automotive, lighting and aerospace, the tapes have proven withstand temperature extremes (-25°F to 300°F) while also sealing out dust, moisture, ozone, UV rays and driven rain. This makes the tapes especially effective with outdoor enclosures such as HID lighting fixtures, electronics cabinets, HVAC units, and outdoor communications. Pres-On silicone foam tape also demonstrate excellent cushioning, shock absorption and vibration isolation. The tapes are medium density and available in several thicknesses and lengths with either acrylic or silicone adhesive. Many tapes are also UL recognized for flame retardance and gasketing. These highly versatile tapes come in red, gray and black, plus can be custom designed to meet application needs, including silicone elastomer seals with EMI RFI shielding materials; extrusion, vulcanized, molded or hand fabricated gaskets; honeycomb ventilation panels, RF windows; and environmental and dust seals in molded, extruded or die cut form.
