New plastic conveyor chains from Iwis for beverage and packaging industries

At this year’s Hannover Fair, Iwis has presented a new range of chains for the beverage and packaging industries. Sold under the Flexon brand label, the newly developed Flat Top chains and Modular Belts can be used for conveying almost all types of piece goods and are particularly well suited for use in the beverage and packaging industries. With its new plastic chains, Munich-based precision chain systems manufacturer Iwis now offers a comprehensive range of chains for all drive and conveying applications. Flexon Flat Top chains are available in various plastic and stainless steel versions that cover a wide range of customer requirements. Their physical dimensions, mechanical properties and materials fully meet the applicable market standards. The new Flexon range of Modular Belts is also available in various plastic versions in both metric and inch widths. Flat Top chains and Modular Belts are typically used for conveying glass and plastic bottles, cans, cases, barrels and cartons in bottling and packaging plants, transporting of foodstuffs in the food and beverage industry, and transporting light- to medium-weight goods in many other sectors. “A few customers have already successfully taken the new Flexon Flat Top chains and Modular Belts into operation”, explains Dr. Frank Mitzschke, design and development project manager at Iwis. “The new product range is the pinnacle of 90 years’ experience in developing roller chains. With these new products we now cover all conceivable drive and conveyor chain applications.” In addition to the Flexon plastic chains the Iwis Group’s product range comprises timing drive systems, precision and high-performance roller chains, conveyor chains, maintenance-free and corrosion-resistant chains, power and free conveyor chains, special-purpose conveyor chains, chains for agricultural machinery as well as chain wheels and accessories.
