With a breakthrough streamlined sensor design, the new Ultra Mag® Flow Meter from McCrometer delivers highly accurate liquid measurement in a more compact, lighter and yet rugged package that simplifies installation while offering low maintenance and long life at an economical cost to set a new industry standard for value. The advanced Ultra Mag Flow Meter is a non-invasive, no-moving parts electromagnetic sensing instrument designed for inline installation. It delivers exceptional flow measurement accuracy of +0.5 percent in water effluent with repeatability of 0.05 percent of actual flow for highly reliable operation. Designed for 2 to 48 inch lines, it measures flow from 0.2 to 49 fps at pressures of up to 300 psi, depending on the selected pipe size and flange configuration.Municipal and industrial water treatment plant engineers will find the versatile Ultra Mag is ideal for application in small to mid size municipal or industrial water filtration facilities and wastewater treatment plants. Its streamline non-contacting electromagnetic sensor design makes it suitable for use in dirty water effluent with sand, debris and even slurry or sludge media without clogging worries. Instrument engineers will find they now no longer have to trade-off accuracy versus a heavy-duty instrument designed for use in demanding environments.Manufactured with 316 Stainless Steel, the rugged Ultra Mag's electrodes are self-cleaning for long service and virtually no maintenance. The Ultra Mag operates in high temperatures up to 170°F, is available with optional end connections such as ANSI, DIN, JIS, smooth and grooved end flanges and can be ordered with custom lay lengths reducing installation costs. ISO standard magmeter lengths are also available. Each flow meter is individually calibrated in our world-class NIST traceable calibration facilities. The advanced Ultra Mag's unique UltraLiner™ technology coupled with its microprocessor-based intelligent signal converter gives users an exceptionally accurate, reliable and durable instrument. The UltraLiner™ is an NSF-approved epoxy with a long history of reliability and is more robust than inserted liners. It is non-conductive to eliminate stray currents, also acts as an electric insulator and will not collapse or delaminate when used on suction lines as Teflon® liners can.To sense flow, the Ultra Mag relies on two compact, high-density magnetic coils placed within the pipe outer wall to generate an electromagnetic field inside the pipe. As conductive liquid flows through the pipe, a voltage is created, which is measured by electrodes inserted through the flow meter liner into the flow stream. The voltage is then converted to a flow rate reading by the Ultra Mag's signal converter, which includes a digital read-out. Electromagnetic measurement gives mag flow meters a wide rangeability - up to 245:1 and allows for bidirectional flow readings. As the voltage generated is related only to the speed of the fluid, measurement is unaffected by changes in fluid density and viscosity - making for a very stable and reliable flow meter. * Accuracy: +/-0.5% of actual flow * Repeatability: +/-0.05% * Rangeability: from 0.2 FPS to 49 FPS * Non-intrusive measurement * NSF-approved, fusion-bonded epoxy liner: the UltraLiner * Signal converter (can be meter mounted or remote mounted up to 300 ft. away) * Pre-programmed and pre-calibrated to user's specific applications * Meter is wet calibrated in NIST traceable calibration facility * Test mode and self-diagnostics * Hart Protocol compatible * Forward and reverse flow outputs and totalization * Line sizes from 2" to 48"
