Toshiba Teli America, Inc., has launched the model CSDS60CM3, the company's first high-definition (HD) color camera, adding to its industry-leading suite of imaging products purpose-built for factory automation, quality control, robotics and the life sciences. The CSDS60CM3 is the first of the company's new family of high-definition cameras targeting the industrial vision marketplace. Able to achieve exceptional picture quality with smearless imaging, the model CSDS60CM3 can also successfully serve as a low-cost HDTV studio sub-camera, as well as in observation, teleconferencing and point-of-view "POV" production applications in entertainment, public safety and for sports enthusiasts."Our new HD camera is the product of Toshiba-Teli's more than four decades of global design expertise, focusing on manufacturing machine vision cameras that exceed the highest industry standards and deliver the absolute best price-to-performance ratio," said Doug Freck, President/CEO of Toshiba Teli America, Inc. "The new CSDS60CM3 provides razor-sharp, crisp color images without any of the motion artifacts common in other HD cameras, especially at high-speed."High resolution and fast frame rates are the two factors that set the camera apart from competing brands. The CSDS60CM3 incorporates a 1/3" CMOS progressive scan color sensor with user-selectable choice resolutions of either 1280 x 1024 or 1280 x 720 at a maximum frame rate of 60 fps. It employs BSI (backside illumination) technology to boost light sensitivity and absorption, allowing for the formation of finer image pixels. Compact dimensions (44mm x 29mm x 78mm) and its one-piece design allows for successful integration of the CSDS60CM3 into OEM systems or in the replacement of lower-resolution cameras in existing systems. DVI-D INTERFACEThe CSDS60CM3 leverages the simple to use, ultra-fast DVI-D interface to assure the highest levels of reliability, compatibility and image quality. The frame rate for DVI-D is twice as fast as CameraLink, four times as fast as Gigabit Ethernet, and eight times as fast as FireWire (S800) or USB 2.0. DVI-D also allows the camera to easily sync with new Toshiba Teli SD card recorders and all DVI-D input monitors. The camera also has line generator function what allows users to operate two lines each, horizontal and vertical. Rounding out the impressive feature set is rolling electronic shutter, special control software and compatibility with standard C-mount lenses.
