Freezer Wheel is the new addition to Kornylak’s Palletflo® live storage systems. Based on new Hysteresis control chemistry, the wheel exhibits excellent energy absorption for controlled speed operation over the entire temperature range of food freezer operations.
It can handle loads up to 4,000 lbs. each on solid or slatted pallets with bottom boards either parallel to or across the flow direction. It is also capable of handling damaged pallets with cupped, warped, split, broken or missing boards. High loads and double stacked pallets move with minimum sway because the speed control is built into each of the closely spaced wheels, resulting in smooth movement. A test in a -10°F freezer showed a constant controlled speed of 11 ft/min + 1 ft/min. The load was 2,500 lbs. on a standard hardwood grocery pallet with bottom boards crosswise.
Because of the nature of Freezer Wheel’s hysteresis control, heavy loads run slower than light loads, but all are controlled and can be intermixed in any lane of a live storage rack.
Freezer Wheel needs no slave or captive pallets, thus eliminating all the double handling, storage, retrieval, initial cost and maintenance associated with such systems. It operates with a very broad range of standard wood, metal and plastic pallets, skids, slave, captive and special pallets or product bottom surfaces making it ideal for intermixed handling in shipping and receiving departments. Testing of your pallet and load can be performed, and is encouraged, at our facility in Hamilton, Ohio.
A “Green” solution, it requires no power, compressed air, brakes, reciprocating travelers or controls thus adding trouble free economy to its other features.
Palletized controlled flow live storage is the most space efficient form of first in first out storage and was invented by Kornylak when it introduced Palletflo 50 years ago. Since then the concept has been proven by thousands of Palletflo systems through the world. Palletflo also works well as first in last out pushback. The same wheel works for both systems.
