Prisms Provide Minimal Distortion

Sept. 8, 2018
Edmund Optics' beem steering prisms have a 20-10 surface quality.

TECHSPEC Nd:YAG Laser Line ?/20 UV Fused Silica Right Angle Prisms offer a combination of precision surface flatness and guaranteed laser damage threshold anti-reflective coatings. They are ideally suited for a wide variety of beam steering applications with minimal wavefront distortion.

The prisms provide precision ?/20 surface flatness and 20-10 surface quality. They are designed for transmission through the legs of the prism, exhibiting less than 0.25% reflection for fiber and Nd:YAG applications. The prisms feature a ±15 arcsec angular tolerance, which ensures consistent alignment for volume integration.

Manufactured from a fused silica substrate, TECHSPEC Nd:YAG Laser Line ?/20 UV Fused Silica Right Angle Prisms have an anti-reflective Nd:YAG coating with laser damage thresholds of 3 J/cm2 at 266nm, 7.5 J/cm2 at 355nm, 10 J/cm2 at 532nm, and 15 J/cm2 at 1064nm for minimized reflection at common laser wavelengths and are available in sizes from 5-25 mm.
