LD 130 & LD 260 Contour, Surface Measurement

Sept. 7, 2012
Mahr's surface and contour measurement systems provide high precision and long measuring paths.

The LD 130 and LD 260 feature longer travel, an innovative biomimetic probe arm design with magnetic mounting and automatic probe recognition, dynamic measuring force, and low residual noise. The units feature travel lengths of 5 in. (130 mm) and 10 in. (260 mm) respectively. This not only allows measurement of much larger parts but with travel speeds up to 8 in./s (200 mm/s) and measuring speeds up to 0.4 in./s (10 mm/s) measuring cycle times can be significantly reduced.

Dynamic response of the probe helps increase measurement speeds and reduce measurement cycle time by allowing the probe to better track the part surface. In addition, dynamic measurement force allows the drive units to operate at angles of ±45-deg. from horizontal.

The tip of the biomimetic probes is below the lowest point on the housing, allowing access in more measuring applications. In addition, the entire lower housings on the units are pressure sensitive so that in the event of unintended contact with another object an emergency signal is initiated and stops all movement of the drive unit.

  • Roughness and contour in one step
  • High measuring and positioning speed  minimizes measuring times dramatically
  • Innovative probe system solution
  • Quick and reliable replacement of the  probe arms with simultaneous probe arm detection by magnetic holder
  • Modular construction for ease of maintenance
