Blaze R290 Flap Wheels Offer Maximum Grinding

Feb. 5, 2022

Norton Blaze R920 Ceramic Alumina Flap Wheels are designed to deliver a smooth, consistent finish with a fast, cool uniform rate of cut under the toughest production applications. The wheels are ideal for aggressive grinding and precision finishing, blending, deburring, cleaning, and producing uniform finishes on tough parts that are manufactured in hard-to-grind materials including superalloys, stainless steel, and cobalt.

The Norton next generation of sharp, ceramic abrasive grains and advanced grinding aid lubricant provide significantly faster, cooler, burn-free grinding. A flexible but strong, heavy cotton backing wears evenly which delivers chatter-free cutting action, longer-life for fewer changeovers, and ensures flexibility for the application while eliminating aggressive sanding action. An advanced full resin bond system promotes exceptional grain retention which increases product life.

Norton Blaze R920 flap wheels are able to achieve close tolerances when finishing curved, contoured, and hard-to-reach areas and are available in both spindle-mount and arbor hole designs. Norton spindle-mounted flap wheels give a controlled rate of wear, exposing new grains, making them ideal for uneven surfaces and a cost-effective replacement for brushes, rubber points, and felt bobs. With shanks that run through the center of the wheel, spindle-mounted flap wheels create better balance and reduce chatter and operator fatigue. Norton arbor hole flap wheels are used on bench-top and fixed-based pedestal tools. The wheels are more forgiving than other abrasive products, which reduces the possibility of flattening, gouging, and surface deformation for fewer rejected parts.
