Renishaw announced it has broken ground on its 52,000 square foot center of excellence for its metrology fixturing design and manufacturing, based in Norton Shores, Michigan, USA. Including a fully equipped demo room for workshops, open houses, and on-site product training, the facility is expected to meet increasing market demands seen by the growth in metrology fixturing, according to the company.
“Renishaw’s new center of excellence in Norton Shores demonstrates our continued investment in our global fixturing product line and our deep commitment to delivering a wide range of innovative product solutions tailored to the evolving needs of our global industrial metrology customers," states Kevin Gani, Director & General Manager of Renishaw’s Styli and Fixturing Products Division.
He continues, “This great new facility will help us to accelerate our new product development pipeline to get fixturing products, such as our new transfer systems, to market quicker and more effectively. It very much encapsulates what Renishaw stands for, in terms of our strong focus on R&D, our passion for innovation, our commitment to great customer service, and our expertise as manufacturers in our own right.”
In addition to this, Renishaw is finally rebranding R&R Fixtures, LLC, which it acquired in 2012. As of July 1st, 2019, all R&R products and marketing will feature Renishaw's distinctive branding to offer customers a greater choice of high-quality fixturing solutions.
“This change reflects Renishaw’s long-term commitment to the development of fixturing solutions used in industrial metrology applications and it will enable us to maximize the value we deliver to our customers,” states Gani. “Although the product branding will now be different, what will remain the same are the high levels of service and support; in fact, we believe they will be strengthened. Additionally, both existing and new customers will now experience greater product choice across one global range, from customized fixturing to ‘off-the-shelf’ kits.”
