TWA Reach Trucks Offer Autonomous and Remote Operation Capabilities
With its Shared Autonomy platform, Armada fleet management system, and multimode forklifts deployed commercially, Third Wave Automation enables warehouse operators to address labor challenges and improve safety, while achieving an immediate return on investment (ROI).
The TWA Reach Truck is an autonomous forklift that uses artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics to give users a lot of flexibility and the ability to deploy the forklift in 4 modes: fully autonomous, remote assist, remote operation, and traditional manual operation.
The forklift operates on Third Wave’s Shared Autonomy Platform, which supports fully autonomous forklifts and the ability for remote operators to take over when needed via the company's Armada intelligent fleet management system and continuous learning that improves performance over time.
The TWA Reach can operate in 10+ ft (3+ m) aisles up to 30 ft (9 m) high, moving products from the staging lane to rack and back without handoff to other systems or workers. With its adaptive navigation and 360-deg. view of the warehouse, It can operate alongside people without interrupting operations.
Debuting at MODEX 2024, the TWA Extended Reach extends the capabilities of the TWS Reach by 2x, allowing for even more payloads and racking configurations.
Using automotive-grade 3D lidar, Third Wave Automation is able to see from floor to roof and across aisles. Rather than needing months to plot out fixed environments, it can map warehouses and get to work in a matter of days.
Additionally, Third Wave Automation offers Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS), which provides access to their solution without capital outlay. The RaaS offering bundles the cost of running the autonomous forklifts into a simple fee, enabling users to scale based on operational needs and incorporating performance objections that incentivize continued improvements.
