Kuźnia Sułkowicie S.A., a drop forging operation, ordered a new Seco/Warwick Corp. heat-treating furnace for its production of forgings used in construction connectors and hand tools. The Polish company manufactures closed-die forgings in carbon and alloy steel, construction steel grades, and stainless steels, from 0.10 to 10 kg.
Seco/Warwick will deliver its CaseMaster AFS multipurpose, "sealed quench" chamber furnace, for thermal and thermo-chemical treatment in a controlled endothermic atmosphere. Casemaster furnaces are used to carry out various thermal processing operations, notably carbonizing, gas carbonitriding, and pure hardening.
The furnace cycle and product transfer processes will be fully automated, meaning the plant personnel will have only to load and unload the work after treatment.
“We have been cooperating with Seco/Warwick for more than 10 years. A decade ago, we purchased and implemented a process line for thermal and thermo-chemical treatment with a chamber furnace type CaseMaster AFS 10E,” recalled the forger’s commercial director, Marcin Szafrański, MSc. Ing.
“Our activities are focused on meeting the expectations of customers, and the ability to expand an existing line, using proven solutions, ensures an increase in production capacity with the highest quality products and timely execution of orders,” Szafrański added.
In recent years, Kuźnia Sułkowicie has expanded from producing hand tools used in industrial and agricultural work to producing drop forgings that require finish machining as well as heat treatment or thermo-chemical treatment.
“The appropriately selected production process guarantees the quality of forgings,” said Jarosław Talerzak, v.p. - Thermal Heat Treatment Furnace Systems for Seco/Warwick.
