B3 Mobile Drum Pump With Battery Drive Increases Safety and Versatility
The B3 Battery, a battery-powered drum pump, empties liquids from drums, canisters, and IBC containers. It can transfer acids, bases, and solvents and pump liquids such as syrups, essences, cleaning agents, fertilizers, or pesticides.
The pump has a brushless 320 W DC motor with a flow rate of up to 50 gal/min (180 L/min) and a delivery head of 40 ft (12 m) of water.
A single battery charge is enough to empty a 50 gal (200-L) drum 14x in just under 15 min. At a lower speed, for example, an IBC container with 260 gal (1,000 L) can be pumped out 6x in 51 min.
Simple to operate, the user secures the tubular pump tube in the container via an adapter with a screw cap. Switching on the drum pump activates a propeller, which generates a flow channel with up to 10,000 rpm. The liquid flows through the pump tube into a hose and can be dosed manually via a nozzle. An optional flow meter is available.
Its modular design enables the pump to pump as many different liquid media as possible and enables the combination of a range of individual components: a 3 lb (1.2 kg) motor with a removable battery, a pump tube that can be screwed on via a handwheel, a hose, and a dosing gun.
The pump tube is available in several versions. Models made of polypropylene (PP) are suitable for low-viscosity acids, sodium hydroxide, and ammonia water. Models made of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) are used for concentrated alkali solutions and acids such as chloric acid and sulphuric acid. Aluminum models are used for diesel, heating oil, and hydraulic oil. The FDA-compliant stainless steel model is for use with liquids in the food industry.
The maximum viscosity of pumped media is 700 mPas.
Pump tubes are manufactured for use in canisters, drums, or containers in the standard immersion depths of 20, 30, 40, and 50 in (500, 700, 1,000, and 1,200 mm). Customers can request tube lengths between 12 and 120 in (300 and 3,000 mm) for special containers and pump sumps.
Lutz also provides the option of combining the modular motor battery with an eccentric screw pump for pumping highly viscous media.
The B3 Battery can also be combined with hybrid mixing-pumping tubes and patented residual emptying pump tubes for the simultaneous mixing of liquids during the pumping and emptying of drums down to the last tenth of a liter.
