iComm Box Creates All-in-One System for Simplified Condition Monitoring
The iComm Box communication module lets users integrate i.Sense sensors into the igus superwise condition monitoring service. The superwise dashboard displays real-time information on the service life of the networked components, along with maintenance recommendations and information on system anomalies.
Using advanced algorithms, this all-in-one system collects machine data in real-time, displaying the information on an intuitive dashboard and allowing users to make more informed, proactive decisions about component maintenance and service life.
The i.Sense series sensors monitor moving machine components like energy chains, cables, linear guides, and bearings. They can also trigger messages or automatic system stops in the event of an anomaly.
For example, the i.Sense EC.P sensor measures tensile and shear forces in energy chains. The data is transmitted through a cable to an evaluation module in the control cabinet. The evaluation module connects to the iComm Box through an additional cable. From there, the iComm Box sends the data to the superwise dashboard through a secure, encrypted mobile network, which remains separate from the user's TCP-IP network.
The personalized dashboard simplifies monitoring by showing the remaining service life of networked components and streamlining maintenance plans. igus can also monitor these systems through its superwise service.
In addition, the iComm Box automatically saves all reports in the igus i.Cee portal, which connects to the igus CRM system, providing sales personnel with reports and tasks. This eliminates the need to monitor the superwise dashboards, relieving departments and enhancing productivity during labor shortages.

- All system data is displayed and a service life forecast is created based on your information and the well-known algorithms of the tried-and-tested online service life calculator. In good time before the end of the safe operating time of the igus e-chain system, the igus sales department will make you an offer to replace the system.
- superwise Silver
- The smart plastics condition monitoring components reliably prevent total failure caused by broken chains, blockage, or cable damage. In the event of a shutdown, you will be informed immediately by e-mail or SMS, and the igus sales department will also be notified so that fast deliveries can be arranged if necessary. All reports are saved with measured values in the portal and can be evaluated at a later point in time for diagnostic purposes. In addition to the basic service, the system optionally records a movement profile, allowing for a more precise service life calculation or service planning.
- superwise Gold
- Additional sensors are installed in your system, which determines the actual wear of the e-chain systems or cables. This status information is available to you 24/7 via the i.Cee portal and enables you to plan long-term maintenance and retrofits. Depending on the i.Cee hardware in use, sensor data can be saved for later evaluation. The i.Cee systems are designed to detect unusual operating conditions at an early stage and to generate preventive information in good time.
