A patent-pending additive material, Jabil PA 0600 is a polyamide/polyketone alloy that delivers the high strength and stiffness required for aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing applications. Offering a viable alternative to Delrin Acetal plastics, the material features a unique formula with Acetal plastic attributes without the potentially dangerous formaldehyde emissions that can cause overheating. Since the filament is formulated without formaldehyde, there's no release of noxious odors or fumes during processing, offering product designers greater flexibility, speed, and safety in developing complex parts that must be resistant to fatigue, friction, and abrasion.
Well suited for a variety of applications, the filament exhibits high stiffness, dimensional stability, and good wear resistance, as well as low-friction, self-lubricating characteristics. Additionally, it delivers high levels of smoothness and durability, typically required in the production of gears, bearings, and rollers; jigs, fixtures, and tooling; and work-holding devices, posts, and nests. The material also simplifies post-print machining including fly cuts, thread taps, and heat stakes.
The Jabil PA 0600 filament is featured in the Ultimaker Marketplace in Ultimaker Cura 3D printing software and is available through DigiKey.
- Excellent machinability
- High strength and stiffness
- Good wear and abrasion resistance
- Low coefficient of friction
- Excellent chemical resistance
- Low warp
- Good dimensional stability
- Non-marring
- Prints on open platforms including Ultimaker S5, UM 3, Raise3D, Method X, and Taz Pro Platforms
- Processes in the mid-range of most desktop printers: print temp 446° to 482°F, build plate temp 122° to 140°F (230° to 250°C, build plate temp 50° to 60°C)
- Due to functional additives, larger nozzles (?0.6 mm) will provide the best results, while a 0.4 mm nozzle will still achieve great results
Applications:
- Gears, bearings, and rollers
- Parts requiring knurling
- Jigs, fixtures, and tooling
- Work-holding devices, posts, nests, etc.
