The Smart-Ex Watch 01 is the first smartwatch for Ex Zones 2/22 and Div. 2. Based on the Samsung Galaxy Watch, it offers a new way of hands-free communication and enables higher employee protection. The Smart-Ex Watch 01 can be combined with the ecom smartphone Smart-Ex 02 and featurephone Ex-Handy 10 to support the mobile worker with a wide range of tasks in hazardous areas.
The watch offers the mobile worker full freedom of movement and communication. Hands-free navigation via advanced voice control or wrist gestures simplifies operation. A rotating bezel allows for intuitive, quick, and easy scrolling through apps and instructions, even with gloves. Thanks to integrated GPS, Glonass and motion sensors, it protects its wearer from the ubiquitous dangers of an industrial environment. The sensors can be used to monitor vital signs for critical conditions. In combination with real-time localization, the worker’s location is rapidly accessible and help can be provided quickly in case of an emergency.
In addition to the Ex certification, the watch passed military specification (MIL-STD-810G) testing against a subset of various conditions, including drops, extreme temperatures, dust, shock/vibration, and low pressure/high altitude. A durable, scratch-resistant gorilla glass SR+ protects the display (3D dial), which can be read even in direct sunlight. In addition, the smartwatch is sealed dust-tight, waterproof up to 50 m to ISO standard and operates at temperature extremes from -15 to +50°C.
The Smart-Ex Watch 01 is fully B2B compatible: The powerful battery offers a runtime of up to five days, with GPS use of up to 28.5 hours. Thanks to a 1.15 GHz dual processor and a 10nm semiconductor, it runs efficiently and quickly. For wireless transmission of voice, data and intelligence services, the LTE version is compatible with almost all GSM and CDMA networks, making it suitable for use in various countries. The smartwatch is continuously protected by the Samsung Knox security platform. Knox uses TrustZone-based Integrity Measurement Architecture (TIMA) to securely operate the Smart-Ex Watch 01 and prevent unauthorized access. Kiosk mode can be used to determine which specific applications each smartwatch should run.
