Alexandria, Minnesota – January 31, 2006 The new Douglas Contour™ M-75 Multiwrapper is innovatively designed with a large size range and built-in programming for adding new products, maximizing flexibility for existing and future products. Changeovers are completed in minutes with minimal change parts and new sizes are quickly added through the HMI’s intuitive instruction.
Patent-pending features include the Smartrak™ infeed, which is designed to eliminate product bridging and gaps that can compromise pack pattern accuracy and continuous product flow; a servo driven wrapping wand for increased film control and accurate film placement; and unprecedented management for tunnel heat and airflow assuring excellent bull’s-eyes in single and multiple lane production. Patented pinless metering is designed to gently meter products into appropriate pack patterns. A unique design in the film feed area allows for the use of a single width of film when running multiple lane production, reducing film usage and overall material costs. To increase package strength for large packs, optional pad and/or u-board capability can be added. Other features include a side mounted film stand for convenient film roll loading and splicing and a roll-out film cutter assembly for maintenance efficiency.
