CLEVELAND, OH, May 8, 2006 – Sure-Foot® Industries Corp., a leader in safety floor coverings, is taking steps to reduce injuries through its innovative Glow-in-the-Dark Boldstep Aluminum Tread.
The Boldstep Aluminum Tread is the only permanent metal tread of its kind that glows in the dark, can recharge in low light and emit superior glow protection for over twenty hours, making it the ultimate in safety even during power outages.
According to preliminary tests conducted by The University of Georgia, Sure-Foot’s Glow-in-the-Dark Boldstep Tread emits over four times the required amount of light set by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
“Our Boldstep Aluminum Tread is truly a breakthrough in safety floor covering,” says Brian Haas, national sales manager for SureFoot® Industries Corp. “Its unique glow-in-the-dark material makes it easy to see in even the darkest of areas, and because of its heavy duty construction it can handle the wear and tear of years of foot traffic.”
Unlike other safety treads that use cement-based, open-celled materials that trap dirt and make them difficult to clean, the Boldstep Tread is made with epoxy material. This means dirt and oils can’t penetrate the closed-cell system, so it’s easier to clean and maintain.
Because of its permanent metal construction, the Glow-in-the-Dark Boldstep Tread also reduces replacement and maintenance costs. As an aluminum-extruded epoxy filled tread that can go over most surfaces, the Boldstep Tread is easy to install because each plate comes pre-drilled and ready to go.
Sure-Foot’s Glow-in-the-Dark Boldstep Aluminum Tread is available in a standard 9” or 11” size and meets all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) federal regulations.
