Kink Resistant PVC Suction Hose Offers Durability & Flexibility

Now available from NewAge Industries is kink- and crush-resistant Vardex® hose for both pressure and vacuum applications. Made of clear PVC with steel wire reinforcement, Vardex is suitable for either fluid or air transfer. A sampling of applications includes chemical lines, material handling, medical appliance components, cleaning equipment, water feeds and discharge, vacuum lines, shop air supply, conduit, food and beverage supply, and environmental suit air feed, among others.

Vardex combines the desirable properties of PVC — resistance to corrosion and abrasion, clarity, rubber-like flexibility, and outstanding flow characteristics — with the strength of steel. The wire reinforcement allows the hose to resist kinking, crushing, and collapse, even at full vacuum (29.9 in./Hg.). This makes it especially useful in applications where bends and turns are involved. Vardex eliminates the need for extra attachments involving fittings, clamps, separate pieces of hose, and the labor to assemble and install them.

With Vardex’s proprietary construction, the spiral steel supporting wire is completely encased within the tubing and never contacts the inside or outside of the hose. Compared to similarly-sized rubber hose, Vardex is much lighter in weight. It is manufactured from non-toxic ingredients that conform to FDA standards and has a mirror-smooth inner surface to permit maximum flow.

Vardex is available from stock in nine sizes ranging from 1/4” to 2” I.D. Custom options include fabricated hose assemblies with permanently crimped-on fittings, cut-to-length pieces, special sizes, formed shapes, and thermal bonding to other PVC tubing and hose. NewAge Industries also stocks a variety of barbed fittings and various styles of clamps for use with Vardex.
