The new EUS34-096 from C&D Technologies is a fixed 5:1 conversion ratio isolated DC/DC Converter. The module is designed for powering multiple downstream, non-isolated point-of-load (POL) converters in Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) applications found in computer and telecommunications equipment. By incorporating input-to-output isolation of up to 2250VDC, the EUS34-096 allows designers to achieve important cost and space savings by allowing them to use non-isolated POL converters rather than larger, more expensive, isolated versions. The new module, which has an industry standard eighth-brick footprint, has an input voltage range of 38VDC to 55VDC. It is able to deliver a maximum of 300W at 48VDC input, and minimum 240W output at 38VDC input, both at +55ºC and 200LFM airflow. Typical efficiency of the fully RoHS compliant Bus Converter is 96%. The EUS34-096 features a positive or negative triggered primary side remote enable capability, and over-current and over-temperature protection, both with automatic restart. The new module is suitable for parallel operation allowing it to satisfy the requirements of higher power applications. Overall dimensions are 58.4mm x 36.8mm x 12.2mm and the operating temperature range is -40ºC to +85ºC. The EUS34-096 meets the requirements of the UL94V-0 flammability specification and has a demonstrated MTBF of 1.3 million hours. • INPUT • Input Voltage Range 38 - 55 Volts • Input Current • OUTPUT • V1OUT 9.6 Volts • I1OUT 34 Amps • Ripple/Noise 50 (mVp-p, typ.) • Line Regulation 0.4 • Load Regulation • Isolation 2250 Volts • ENVIRONMENT • Efficiency (typ.) 96% • Package 1.45 x 2.28 x 0.48 (36.38 x 57.91 x 12.19) • Operating Temperature -40 to 85°C
