Measurement Specialties (MEAS) is pleased to introduce the M5100 and U5100 Pressure Transducers designed for use in industrial applications that require superior long-term stability in harsh environmental conditions. The M5100 and U5100 are high accuracy devices priced competitively for OEM applications. Typical applications for the M5100 and U5100 Pressure Transducers include process control, utilities, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, advanced HVAC controllers, refrigeration systems, pumps, compressors, agriculture equipment, automotive test stands, gas compressors, oil exploration and water management. The M5100 features Measurement Specialties’ proprietary Microfused™ technology in a compact, rugged, vibration resistant package, ideally suited for high pressure, high cycle count applications that often produce fatigue related failure in traditional pressure transducers. The port and diaphragm for the M5100 are machined from 17-4 stainless steel, (optionally 316L); there are no seals in the pressure port to leak or fail over time. Total error band – the sum of all errors including linearity, hysteresis, and temperature – is +/- 1% full scale for the M5100 over a broad temperature range. The M5100 is offered for gage or sealed gage sensing. OEM customization for the M5100 provides snubbers for hydraulic hammer protection with ultra-robust designs offering up to 15 X over range protection in development now for release in the near future. The U5100 features Measurement Specialties’ ultrastable MEMS die within an oil-filled stainless steel isolated capsule diaphragm to provide superior accuracy in low pressure (<150 psi) applications. Both transmitters have heavy industrial CE rating and feature an advanced ASIC for extended range temperature compensation, signal conditioning and output amplification. The electronics provide digital compensation with multiple temperature point correction to effect superior temperature calibration. The compensated temperature range extends from -20ºC to +85ºC, with extended performance to 125ºC. Total error is +/- 0.75% full scale for the U5100 over a broad temperature range. The U5100 can be used for gage or absolute sensing. Both transmitters offer a variety of options for ports, connectors and electrical outputs. Standard ports include NPT or SAE-4 with Schrader deflector, as well as European fittings such as G ¼ (¼ BSP), M12 or M20. Connectors include Packard, Bendix, DIN, Hirshman or cable. Standard output options include 1-5V, 0.5 to 4.5 ratiometric and 4-20mA. Pressure range options start at 0 – 15 psi and extend to 0 – 10,000 psi. Custom configurations are offered for OEM volumes.
